Cloud Platform Principal Architect / Engineer – Cloud Platform and Management Services Team
Mission:
As a Cloud Platform Principal Architect / Engineer, you will be responsible for driving Anthem transformation and adoption towards Multi and Hybrid Cloud. As a senior member of Cloud Platform and Management Services team, you will evaluate Cloud technologies and drive adoption by helping lead teams through a transformational journey. Responsible for solutioning, implementation, and achieving superior end-to-end operating model from service enablement to application onboarding on IBM, AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud and container foundational platforms and services, participating in all phases of the cloud in-take and fulfillment process.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate subject matter expertise, maturity and understanding of private, public, and hybrid cloud environments and the corresponding technology stack
Act as the central point of contact as the Cloud In-take and Governance lead for CPMS team on all matters related to workload disposition decisioning and workload portability architecture
Assess, design, implement, automate, and document in-take processes and solutions leveraging private cloud, AWS, and other cloud vendors
Design, implement, and streamline processes and tools for expedient in-take service enablement, service demand management, application onboarding request fulfillment for on-prem, hybrid, private, and public cloud environments
Partner with enterprise data analytics, digital, and database teams on data strategy and cutting-edge technologies and services enablement
Drive agreement and alignment on critical issues as part of a cross functional tiger team working with technical, enterprise governance, security, and other teams to build foundational core and custom platforms and services with appropriate security guardrails
Build an evolutionary roadmap that defines and communicates the strategic direction for concentrated around IBM private and public cloud.
Enforce design architecture, methods, and controls required to meet security, compliance, and audit requirements
Develop procedures to automate tasks during code builds and deployments, respond to and, when appropriate, resolve, engage, and escalate incidents to the internal and external partners,
Report unresolved security exposures, misuse of resources, and noncompliance situations using defined escalation processes
Develop and communicate cloud policies and standards, and advocate compliance with application development, application support, and vendor support teams
Partner and build relationships with enterprise architecture and application architecture teams to perform, evaluate, and influence cloud affinity assessments and execute recommendations
Build strong partnerships with software vendors, account managers, and support vendor partners as well as application and infrastructure teams
Ensure multi-cloud connectivity strategy and implementation working with network and development teams
Experience in matrixed teams and managing offshore architecture and engineering teams
Great interpersonal, team-work attitude, and communication skills, and drive collaborative initiatives
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Requires an BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training
8+ years multi-cloud, hybrid, public, and private cloud experience
12+ years hands-on experience as infrastructure and applications architect
5+ years hands-on experience in building private cloud and VMWare environments
Experience with technologies like Docker, Ansible, Python, CI/CD pipelines, ELK stack and familiar.
Expert understanding of public, private, and hybrid cloud environments
VMWare, Cloud Management Platforms
Hands-on experience of building private cloud and managing cloud security
Knowledge of Kanban and SDLC as infrastructure and application architect
Ability to learn cutting edge technologies around AI/ML, Block Chain, Istio, Spire/Spiffe
Experience in re-architecting on-premise applications and migrating to any CSPs
