This position is responsible for working with the defining and facilitating the strategic planning process for a high profile account in the PNW; develop, articulate and adapt the account’s strategic plan; align and drive portfolio and prioritization and support critical strategic initiatives in their formation of recommendations before their transition to implementation. This role will report into the VP of Account Partnerships. This role will work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the division and beyond.
The successful candidate should deliver a broad skillset: an ability to develop strategic concepts and frameworks; ability to communicate effectively with the business in creating demand for strategic intelligence and strategic support; and ability to drive strategic and quantitative analyses. This individual will partner with strategy leads and colleagues at the VP, Director and Manager levels, coordinating strategic planning initiatives across regional and corporate segments.
This role will focus on prioritizing strategic projects in service of the account, with functions including framing of process/plan, defining success metrics, establishing governance structures for the project, synthesizing competitive / landscape research, articulating hypotheses to test and managing the effort / coordination of the team. Align project efforts with functional area leads, including but not limited to:
Analytics – develop requirements for analytics team and deliver storylines / insight to account leaders; effectively iterate with data scientists
Collaborate with the Anthem team development of the view of the market landscape / specific trends
Develop scenario views of the market and position for account
Propose and create buy-in to tracking mechanisms to measure effectiveness of strategic initiatives
Drive quantitative analysis both externally (e.g., industry trends, ROIs, demand views, etc.) as well as internally to inform structured recommendations for select strategic initiatives
Conduct qualitative analysis both externally (market developments, employer demands, consumer trends and technology, etc.) and internally (understanding account position, prior decisions made, feasibility dynamics, etc.) to inform structured recommendations for select strategic initiatives
Lead and facilitate work groups of leaders across the organization to gain input and form strategic recommendations
Keep abreast of changes in the industry and field, proactively identifying and assessing strategic business issues, needs and opportunities to meet corporate goals
Design, develop, and assess financial implications of solutions for strategic issues through quantitative and financial modeling (e.g., cost/benefit, ROI, etc.)
Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field; 10 years of strategic planning, project/program management, vendor management experience including 3 years of leadership/management with business knowledge in multiple disciplines within a Healthcare organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Masters degree preferred.
