Location: Virginia, New Jersey, New York and Conneticut

The Medicare Market Performance Business Development Director is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the development of new business areas which complements existing offerings. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes assigned market trends and shares competitive intelligence with product team in development of local market strategies in benefit design and may partner with the sales team in making presentations.

  • Provides oversight and serves as Medicare SME/business representative to key projects, including complex network management projects/initiatives.

  • Develops business plans and formulates strategies for both new and existing businesses.

  • Provides research, analysis and recommendations on the external environment as part of the development of strategic plans for the business unit.

  • Works with RVP/PSO to develop and implement network strategies with a focus on identification/cultivation of strategic alliances within the local market.

  • Analyzes major competitor strategies.

  • Identifies and monitors changing patterns of competition and recommends responses.

  • Coordinates with the reporting and data analysis team to accomplish the business objectives through information management.

  • Creates business case to obtain resources (people, funding, material, support) to support the local market’s information needs and strategic initiatives, with a focus on one or two states depending on market saturation and size.

  • Provides leadership in motivating indirect subordinates to accomplish reporting and data analysis goals and objectives.

  • Reports project status and progress to VP segment business and other management.

  • Acts as a liaison to other BUs/companies.

  • Implements product/operational changes resulting from changing legislation/regulations.

Qualifications

Requires a BA/BS degree; 8 - 10 years of business/network development or provider engagement experience in governmental healthcare programs including 5 years of progressive direct/indirect leadership responsibilities; must have knowledge of value based, shared savings and ACO development, any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Master’s degree preferred. Experience in business/product development and/or marketing preferred. Organizational, analytical, facilitation, consultation, negotiation, persuasion and project management skills required.
