The DevOps coach at Anthem will report to the DevOps Center of Excellence where they will coordinate efforts as a DevOps coach assigned to a delivery tower at Anthem. The day-to-day activities include training/advising/coaching teams adopting Agile and DevOps approaches to delivery. Additional requirements of this position includes working with the COE to curate and share adoption patterns with the other coaches and communities.
The DevOps Coach will facilitate the establishment of the DevOps Community of Practice at Anthem. The DevOps Coach will assist in the creation and logistics for "DevOps Days" and other internal activities embracing the culture and skills required for successful DevOps at Anthem.
The DevOps coach should be seasoned in a diverse range of technology stacks. Java/.Net and Mainframe Agile experience is desirable.
Extreme skill in achieving quality through test-first practices and automation in the four-quadrants is essential.
Coach must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead instructor training in any DevOps practice such as:
Test Driven Infrastructure
SOLID Design Patterns
Database Automation (tested migrations through Liquibase, Flyway or similar)
Test Data Management (factories/builders)
Experience with Chef/Puppet/Ansible/Vagrant/Virtual Box in production settings required.
Extreme monitoring skills such as App Dynamics/New Relic or homegrown solutions required.
Distributed Security Practices
Static Analysis (Code Quality)
The successful candidate will understand the principles and values underlying lean and agile flow and is mandatory.
Prior success applying SAFe/Scrum/Kanban experience is expected.
Candidate will be able to articulate the challenges of DevOps and offer approaches for remedy to these challenges.
The candidate will be skilled at communicating to people of all skills and roles in the organization including very technical engineers and cost-conscious executives.
