Pharmacy Technician II

Due to the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, this position will require you to work remotely from your home with the flexibility to return to a regular, in-office work environment. As we continue to monitor guidance from CDC and state officials there may be times you would need to report to the office on a monthly or quarterly basis for team meetings or engagement activities.

As a Pharmacy Technician II you will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues. Here’s what a typical day may look like:

• Verify member information and inputs data for the pharmacists and medical directors.

• Process prior authorization requests from physicians’ offices and ensures compliance with Medicaid and Commercial requirements as well as informs relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.

• Outreach to providers regarding Peer-to-Peer and Appeals requests.

• Generate, manipulate, and carry out prior authorization reviews based on member case reports.

• Make requested updates to previously approved prior authorizations.

High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited Institution.

Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

Requires an active, professional license, if required by state law, State Pharmacy Technician Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) requirements, to practice as a Pharmacy Technician within the scope of practice in a state or territory of the United States.

Current, unrestricted state Pharmacy Technician License and PTCB Certification is required

Requires strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.

Prior call center experience strongly preferred.

Ability to work from home with internet access and a quiet and private workspace.

Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:30am - 8:30 pm EST with required nights/weekends and Saturday rotations.

Must be located within 50 miles of the following city/state: Mason, OH; Virginia Beach, VA, Las Vegas, NV.
