Provider Experience Director
Target location: New York; will consider a remote arrangement if within a reasonable traveling distance of our New York City or Albany Anthem office locations
This role will be in the newly formed Provider Experience (PE) group in Anthem’s New York region or Empire BCBS. The team will be reimagining how we deliver service and resolve issues for our valued network partners. This is an advanced-level role that involves mentoring others on the team and will be a key resource to the Director of the team. This team has a strategic value, and we are looking for those who love process improvement, working with leaders throughout the enterprise, and who can also develop trusted external relationships.
Responsible for Developing and maintaining positive provider relationships, dedicated to large hospitals, health systems, and provider groups with total annual spending in excess of several billion dollars. Will oversee team’s on-site and/or virtual/digital visits, communication of administrative and programmatic changes, and the resolution of provider issues and mentor staff on ways to be more effective. Serving as a knowledge and resource expert regarding the most complex provider issues impacting provider satisfaction, member and client satisfaction, and renegotiation hurdles to operational inefficiencies. Works with internal matrix partners to triage issues, prioritize workloads and help escalate critical issues to executive leadership.
May lead or co-lead Joint Operation Committees (JOC) with hospitals, health systems, and provider groups, driving the meetings in the discussion of issues and changes. May lead or co-lead Market Provider Advisory Council and be responsible for content creation and organization.
Requires a Bachelor's degree; 5 years of Provider service experience including 3 years of experience in healthcare or provider environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Travel may be required. Prefer this candidate to have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and be able to learn programs quickly such as internal tracking programs, SharePoint intake requests, and/or any claims system that is needed for research. Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid products, contracts, and provider service preferred.
