Location: Remote based

Position may be filled at the Clinical Pharmacist or Senior level depending upon level of candidate's education and relevant skills/experience.

Key responsibilities include Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee support for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid, drug monograph development, critical evaluation of clinical trial data, and drug pipeline monitoring and forecasting.

The Clinical Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacist Sr is responsible for providing clinical and drug evaluation support for the pharmacy and therapeutics process.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Researches, synthesizes, and critically evaluates high quality clinical evidence related to the efficacy, safety, and attributes of drugs, biologics, and gene therapies.

  • Prepares and presents drug evaluation information during regular Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings.

  • Serves as a subject matter lead for select therapeutic classes.

  • Drug pipeline monitoring and evaluation support.

  • Provides drug information support to internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Provide clinical support for various internal clinical programs.

  • Develops newsletters related to clinical efficacy, safety, and clinical impact for key internal stakeholders.

  • Presents and collaborates with internal stakeholders (medical directors, pharmacists, nurses, business area leads, etc.).

  • Prepares clinical evidence information for network physicians.

Additional duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides clinical consulting services to client and implements clinical information and education programs.

  • Assists in developing formularies.

  • Performs drug utilization analyses.

  • Participates in and presents to Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings and management of client formulary.

Qualifications

Qualifications for Clinical Pharmacist:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

  • PharmD is highly preferred.

  • 2 years of managed care pharmacy (PBM) experience or residency in lieu of work experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Requires a Registered Pharmacist; must possess an active, unrestricted state license to practice pharmacy as an (RPh).

Qualifications for Clinical Pharmacist, Sr:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

  • PharmD is highly preferred.

  • 4 years of experience as a pharmacist in a clinical setting; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Requires a Registered Pharmacist; must possess an active unrestricted state license to practice pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh).

  • Requires strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.
