Duties & Responsibilities

Position Title: Product Manager Sr. – Virtual Care Solutions Leader

Are you ready to transform healthcare? Anthem’s Next Generation Healthcare Solutions Team is looking for a tech-savvy, strategic problem solver to play an integral role on our matrixed team as we work together to power Anthem’s future and transform the model of U.S. health care.

In this important role, you will work closely with the Vice President of Commercial Clinical Products and three Clinical Product Portfolio leaders to shape and implement new digital healthcare solutions that will modernize the way Anthem delivers specialty services to families and those struggling with chronic medical and mental health issues. These solutions will be delivered through our Link Experience, a new “virtual-front-door-to-care”. This initiative represents a transformational industry milestone to be created by world-class digital-health development leaders who are now part of Anthem’s digital transformation division.

  • Skillful at building consensus and making thoughtful, data-driven recommendations for project prioritization, solution design, issue management, risk identification and mitigation.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with leadership teams and present options and inherent tradeoffs so decisions can be made quickly and effectively.

  • As self-starter with a solid track record of driving high-impact results.

Primary duties:

  • Champions the virtual-front-door-to-care vision and guides the product roadmap.

  • Coordinates regularly with Product Portfolio Leaders to validate priorities and maintain strategic alignment.

  • Operates as the clinical product team’s “Link Experience” initiative owner who works closely with our digital transformation project management office and clinical operations leaders to define digitally enabled member engagement strategies and specific business requirements for our digital product team.

  • Works collaboratively as needed with marketing, I.T., network, and finance teams.

  • Participates in weekly project leader meetings with peers and the project management office to ensure collaborative workflow, and that checks-and-balances are maintained at each stage of development.

  • Works with the user experience design team to guide the creation of our online members journey to ensure services are easy to find and use.

  • Works within Anthem’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) approach to ensure the implementation of new products and that program enhancements are rationalized and supported with appropriate resources and funding.

  • Supports peers as the primary point person for all “Link Experience” initiative details.

  • Frequently communicates plans and progress to executive teams.

  • Works with portfolio product team to implement new products or product changes/enhancements as they relate to our Link Experience.

  • Participates as needed, in the selection of vendor business partners to support the development of new product features and capabilities



  • Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field; 4 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.


  • 4-6 years of relevant industry experience in three or more of the following areas: Product Development, Virtual Care Program Management, or Vendor Partnership Development.

  • Direct product management experience with virtual healthcare capabilities is highly desirable.

  • Proven experience managing large scale cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated understanding of disciplined program management methodologies. Familiarity with Agile principles and methodologies a plus.

  • Health or managed care experience preferred.

  • This position is eligible for work-at home status from anywhere in the county.
