Sales Account Rep I, II, III - Job Family (Southeast National Accounts)
Please Note: This position may be filled at either of the posted levels and the selected candidate must reside in the Southeast. The Manager will determine the level based upon the selected applicant’s skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Sales Account Representative I : Responsible for supporting the Account Manager II or Account Manager II Sr in the retention of local groups. May also support new sales team. Typical group size is 100-999 eligible or enrolled subscribers, and may also include small group 2-99. May also include small group.
Sales Account Representative II : Responsible for supporting the Account Manager III or Account Manager III Sr in the retention of large local groups or national accounts. May also support new sales team. Typical group size is 1000 to 4,999 eligible or enrolled subscribers. Conducts meetings with group employees who have a choice of carriers and promote, sell, persuade and influence associates to enroll in our products.
Sales Account Representative III : Responsible for supporting the Account Executive or Account Executive Sr in the retention of large local groups or national accounts. May also support new sales team. Typical group size is 5,000 eligible or enrolled subscribers
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Conducts meetings with group employees who have a choice of carriers and promote, sell, persuade and influence associates to enroll in our products.
Advises clients on developing and designing specific benefit plans that will best suit the client's needs.
Directs and coordinates benefit design issues and modifications with Operations and Membership Implementation staff in support of client needs.
Analyzes client needs and develop, design and recommend or implement product improvements or additions to increase sales.
Negotiates with the client and Underwriting regarding the price or rates for specific plans and options, and developing alternative plans or modifications to lower the rates.
Negotiates the quotes and works with members and brokers related to the actual selection and sale. Researches reasons for client decisions regarding the company and competitor products. If the competitor product is more favorable, makes recommendations to change the company's products or pricing.
Sells, promotes, and influences companies or clients to add additional products or services to the existing account (up sell).
Acts on behalf of Account Manager or Account Executive to respond to client proposals and decision-makers during the negotiation and selection process.
Responsible for projects outside the department on matters of significance with the authority to represent the department.
Develops relationships with existing accounts, members and brokers and responds to inquiries.

Ability to travel for trainings, team meetings, and client obligations.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving team environment, using resources and relationships provided, as well as self-developed.

Sales Account Representative I
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 1 year of related experience or an approved Sales internship; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license required within 6 months of start date.
Sales Account Representative II
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license required within 6 months of start date.
Sales Account Representative III
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license required within 6 months of start date.
Experience in National or Local/Large Employer Group Medical insurance and benefits
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups) with the ability to manipulate large sets of data.
Proven product expansion with existing clients.
Proven experience in strategy development.
Proven experience in communicating with leadership and mentoring colleagues.
Proven leadership ability internally/externally.
