*Position ideally located in Chicago, IL but will consider other locations.
Lead the design and development of analytic models, applications and supporting tools, which enable Data Scientists to create algorithms/models in a big data ecosystem.
Primary duties may include but are not limited to:
Lead the design, implementation and delivery of an insights data pipeline supporting analytic products across the organization.
Design and integrate data from different sources.
Forms analytics platform components and/or processing components required to provide a business solution.
Engage with business stakeholders to design and own end-to-end solutions to empower data driven decision making.
Leverage data, technology and quantitative methods to form products that inject analytics and insights into daily workflow of teams.
Defines application scope and objectives, including impact to interfaces.
Ensures appropriate data testing is completed and meets test plan requirements.
Coordinates integration actions to ensure successful implementation.
Mentors Data Science Sol Consultants/Sr.
Lead analytical projects and pilots for upgrades or enhancements.
Analyses data sources to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
Responsible for interpreting big data/analytic projects that integrate large volumes of data, performs analysis and recommends actionable insights.
Work with cross-functional team members to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact insights across a variety of core business areas.
Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologie
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines; 5-7 years experience in predictive analytics and experience with software such as Hadoop technologies; 5-7 years Teradata experience and complex SQL, or equivalent; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
3+ years’ experience in one of the following areas strongly preferred:
Database Strategy, Data Modeling, Data Pipelines and ETL Architecture
5+ years of hands-on experience in one or more modern Object-Oriented Programming languages (Java, Scala, Python) including the ability to code in more than one programming language preferred.
2+ years of hands-on experience implementing scalable data solutions in private or public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake etc.) preferred.
Experience in the healthcare sector preferred.
Experience with deployment techniques within an agile development methodology preferred.
Strong knowledge of BTEQ and multi database preferred.
Able to translate between customer needs and product specifications.
Full SDLC exposure delivering production-ready engineering solutions, including requirements definition, architecture selection, prototype development, application design, enabling continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and preparing support and maintenance processes.
Experience in designing scalable full-stack applications and leading engineering teams in developing real-time and decision support solution types.
Proven experience in an agile and DevOps environments who can mentor engineers fostering best practice design and development skills.
Strong relational database SQL skills; including optimization techniques, with knowledge of NoSQL concepts.
An ideal candidate will have significant experience in two or more areas: Data Architecture, Real-Time Applications, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or BI Tools.
Ability to operate with a variety of data engineering tools and technologies (Hadoop, MongoDB, Oracle, Spark).
Good understanding of the latest data science and data engineering methods to implement enterprise-level services.
Solid experience with unix and shell scripting.
Experience in defining project solution approach leveraging agile methodologies working with Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
Experience with source code management and application deployment techniques within an agile development methodology.
Knowledge of the following Machine Learning Algorithms - Classification, Regression, Clustering, Dimensionality Reduction, Model Selection, Feature Extraction.
