The Director & Actuary II is responsible for directing actuarial research required to identify and solve actuarial problems for a region. This position is in the finance area supporting the Diversified Business Group (DBG). DBG is a fast-growing organization within Anthem and DBG finance is looking to expand its actuarial staff to support risk arrangements, M&A activity, and other actuarial-related work. Looking for highly motivated individuals to provide actuarial leadership/insights within the DBG and DBG finance organizations.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Manages actuarial model development and maintenance.
Manages actuarial data delivery and support.
Conducts experience analysis.
IDM IT coordination.
Monitors developments in actuarial techniques, and researches laws, and regulations applicable to actuarial science and insurance operations.
Analyzes competitive developments in the marketplace and manages studies that underlie actuarial assumptions.
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of related professional/managerial experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Requires ASA/MAAA and FSA.
