Anthem’s Diversified Business Group (DBG) provides innovative solutions and integrated care delivery models to address the whole person health needs – physical, emotional, social and financial – of people with complex and chronic conditions.

Given Anthem’s scale, balance sheet, broad national reach and depth at the local market level, Anthem has established a new business unit called the Diversified Business Group. The Diversified Business Group is a solutions-oriented business unit within the Company that will support Anthem and other external clients in the pursuit of transforming healthcare.

DBG is comprised of three independent divisions that offer single, partial and fully integrated healthcare solutions:

  • Care Delivery, with the integration of Aspire and CareMore at the center, is focused on jointly managing those patients facing serious and chronic illness through innovative homebased palliative care models.

  • Clinical Decision Support and Pathways, with AIM Specialty Health at the center, is focused on creating and managing best practice clinical pathways with emphasis on chronic conditions.

  • Advanced Analytics and Services, which includes HealthCore and Payment Integrity, uses centralized data to drive better care through predictive and comprehensive insights, as well as to create data assets that can be monetized.

The Staff VP Business Development is responsible for leading development and execution of strategies to protect and grow membership and related operating gain. This role will be focused on CareMore and Aspire products & services.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Explores, defines, and executes strategies to drive membership and operating growth to augment traditional sales activity.

  • Leads all aspects of activities to protect core membership and defend margins.

  • Develops operating model and participation criteria to optimize membership and operating gain.

  • Tracks impact of participation and adjusts participation criteria as market matures.

  • Evaluates and leads continuous improvements for distribution strategies. Monitors and adjusts distribution strategy.

  • Evaluates product and capabilities and develops strategies.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

  • 10 years of experience in strategy, business development or sales or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience with selling Complex Care Delivery

  • Experience with Risk Based Contracting

  • Experience selling Medicare/Medicaid

  • Successful Pipeline Sales Development

  • MBA preferred.

Annual Salary Range*: $162,000 - $202,800

Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
