Job Description - Business Analyst III & II

Responsible for serving as the liaison between the business and IT in translating complex business needs into application software. Responsible for translating basic business needs into application software requirements.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes business needs to determine optimal means of meeting those needs.

  • Determines specific business application software requirements to address specific business needs.

  • Works with programming staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing.

  • Acts as liaison with users of the software to address questions/issues.

  • May provide direction and guidance to team members and serves as an expert for the team.

  • Periodic contract reviews to ensure adherence to non-standard recovery language and to identify strategic updates due to high impact to recovery pipeline

  • coordinating and executing overpayment recovery hold and bulk overturn requests across multiple areas and providing updates to internal leadership

  • Monitors data mining pipeline to ensure normal workflow is being adhered to.


Required Qualifications – Business Analyst III

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years business analysis experience, that includes knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations; or any combination of education and experienced, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Required Qualifications – Business Analyst II

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 3 years related business analysis experience, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Qualifications for Business Analyst III & II

  • Familiarity with Anthem contracting tools preferred

  • Requires strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Requires strong problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Strong project management skills needed to coordinate resolution of work flow breaks across multiple teams and owners
